CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. CSA is a farm membership system that allows consumers to sign up to receive a season’s worth of a farm’s products (vegetables in this case) every or every other week for the summer season. Along with getting to enjoy fresh, delicious, and local food, being a CSA member is an excellent way to support and get to know your local farmers. When you sign up to become a CSA member before the growing season begins, your financial support helps us prepare for the season. You’ll enjoy high-quality fresh veggies while taking comfort in knowing where and how your food was grown.
WHY SHOULD I JOIN A CSA?
More farm fresh veggies will help you eat healthier.
Try new varieties of vegetables that you cannot buy in a grocery store.
Receive fresh, high quality, superior tasting vegetables.
Know your farmer and where your food comes from.
Be part of a community of like-minded veggie lovers.
Support a small, local, environmentally-minded business.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE SCF CSA?
Veggies of course! -- Below are examples of an early-summer share that is mostly greens, a mid-summer share once a variety of veggies start to ripen, and a late-summer share that even has winter squash. A CSA teaches you to eat with the seasons.
On-Farm Events -- CSA members are invited to two on-farm summer events where you can explore the farm, meet your farmers and get to know the other CSA members. Below are photos of past events that have included a hay wagon farm tour, yard games, and pick your own sweet corn.
Newsletter -- Each share comes with a newsletter telling you about each item, recipe suggestions and a farm update.
Bonus Items -- In addition to veggies you may receive fruit, flowers, baked goods or canned goods on occassion.
Member Only Facebook Page -- This is a place for members to ask questions, share recipes, and connect with us & each other.
